Since I am not working in the ag sector I have been posting
questions about tractors that came up for sale locally.
Sofar I have not been successful in my efforts to purchase one.
I have been outbid in one aution and others were sold before I had a chance to see them.
At this time I would like to thank everyone that answered my questions even if it was obvious that I do not know much about tractors.
Also I wish you all a merry christmas.
Now for my next question:
I have limited my search to John Deere and ford or Ford New Holland.
Now I am considerig looking at Kubota and others also.
On EBAY I have seen a 2004 new Jinma 35hp 3cyl diesel
with loader with buyit price of 11,600.
Also a Kama new 4cyl diesel 35hp with loader for 10,900.
These are more powerful and cheaper than othes I have seen
in my price range.
I will use the tractor I buy only for snow removal
which in my area can be a lot some years,
Also to move V8 engines and transmissions in my hobby occasionaly.
I am told that all the tractors are manufactured outside of the U.S.
IN YOUR OPINIONS IS THERE A PREFERRED ORDER OF BRANDS TO BUY??????
Considering Reliability, Parts availability and dealership support,
resale value,
and Regional stability of the manufacturing country.(China?)>

I will not give a brand preference, BUT I will say I believe you are shopping in the wrong arena on Ebay!
If you are looking for a quality buy with parts and after sale support your best bet is with a LOCAL dealer. Even if you only seek advice from the dealer and buy from a local private owner.
I've seen 3 tractors, in the last 4 weeks, the sheet metal beat all to pieces, a couple of leaks/seeps here and there but seemed mechanically sound. A little TLC and tin work would more than pay for itself later on a trade up.
Let your dealer know what $$$ range you are in and what type of tractor you need. 4x4, gear, bucket loader etc. Dealers have a lot of contacts and can locate something for you or let you know who might have something for sale. Also this should give you an indication of how supportive the dealership will be.
Mechanically there should not be a problem as long as service/parts manuals and parts are avaiable. If you can rebuild a Studebaker you sure as haeck can do a older gear shift tractor.

Even tho I've driven, repaired and relied on tractors for a half century for our living, I would'nt dream of buying a tractor on E-bay or any sight unseen situation (I learned the hard way buying parts on the internet). Your first and perhaps your most important decision is picking a dealership that's been in business for a good long time, ask them for references, if there straight shooters they'll be glad to. Far as brand I'm pretty much a green person. Orange and blue are great tractors too so long as you have a good dealership to take care of your needs. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to find service or parts for an orpahn piece of equipmwnt. Best of luck. Frank. ....

Even if you do decide to take the e-bay plunge, only do it after sitting on and driving the tractor model you are considering. There is a big difference between a Jinma, and a New Holland, Deere, or Kubota. There are major feature differences, along with quality and dealer support issues. Not all tractors come with the same features, and are set up differently. You need to be sure what you are buying is going to suit what you will need to do.
Then there is the problem of buying something that someone else needs to part with. We have had nothing but bad luck buying used equipment. If the dwal looks too good to be true, it probably is. ....

I would certainly consider local first, because at some point, assuming you own it long enough it will require work and that's why going with the major players (Kubota, NH, Deere, Case, etc.,) would be my picks over other brands. ....
